Hello, and welcome back to the Downtown Fit Camp blog! In our last blog, we introduced ourselves and provided some more information about who we are, why we are a different kind of gym than many of the big franchise gyms in the San Bernardino area, and what we have to offer. A Gym That Cares About the Community

If you read our last blog post, or took some time to explore our website, you will have probably noticed that we offer bootcamp classes that include elements of HIIT, kickboxing, boxing, and calisthenics, and offer a Six Week Challenge: anyone who signs up for the challenge and loses 20 pounds gets their money back. Why? We truly care about helping our clients in the San Bernardino area get results through providing fat-burning and muscle-toning fitness classes. Sometimes to achieve something that you’ve always wanted, it takes the right combination of encouragement, quality fitness classes, and motivation, and that is exactly what we try to do. We don’t just care for our clients who are, at first glance, more “fitness-inclined.” We are truly in the business of helping everyone change their lives.

Fitness & Diabetes

We understand that diabetes brings with it unique challenges that can be difficult to overcome. Suffering from diabetes can make losing weight nearly impossible, and if you carry quite a bit of extra weight, you have even more challenges. The coaches at Downtown Fit Camp would love to help you lose weight, keep it off, and develop a healthy lifestyle to combat the effects of diabetes. Dealing with the challenges that type 1 and type 2 diabetes presents can be quite disheartening, but know that these challenges can be overcome. Childhood Obesity and Child Wellbeing

Childhood obesity has been on the rise in the recent years for a number of reasons and the effects of this condition on those children is undeniable. Not only is their health compromised, but there are major social and emotional implications. Obese children are prone to a number problems such as asthma, sleep apnea, bone and joint problems, type 2 diabetes, and are at risk for heart disease. These children also tend to suffer from bullying from their peers, depression, lower self-esteem, and may be less likely to put themselves in situations to make friends.

If your child is suffering from childhood obesity, the coaches at Downtown Fit Camp would love to help your child lose weight and establish healthy fitness and nutritional habits. We understand that you know what’s best for your child and would consider it an honor to help them reach their full potential. We suggest that instead of singling out your child, that you encourage the entire family to try new healthy habits, and we require a parent to join their child during our program. Because our program is rigorous, we only accept children who are 12 years old and up. Before signing up for our program, we suggest that you speak with your doctor. We would love to be a part of our child’s healthy development.
