We also discussed what you need to do to get ready for your bootcamp class. Catch up on our past blog posts or stay right here to learn why you should never skip stretching after your workout.

10 Reasons to Stretch After A Workout
Stretching after a workout can seem like an irritating part of your workout, especially if you have to rush on with the rest of your day as soon as you can change our of your sweaty workout clothes. However, stretching after a fitness class at Downtown Fit Camp or anytime you workout is an absolute must and here’s why.
Combat Stiffness & Soreness
If you aren’t stretching, you will feel stiff and sore after your workout. Even if you do stretch after your workout, you may still feel some soreness, but it will be a lot less than if you didn’t stretch at all.
Eliminate Lactic Acid
Lactic acid is produced when your muscles are tired. Lactic acid that is allowed to build up can be harmful. Stretch and eliminate the lactic acid that your body produced from all that hard work in the gym.
Release Endorphins
After you workout, your body releases endorphins which you feel as the energized happy feeling after a workout. Stretching slows down the cool down so you feel those endorphins as much as possible.
Increase Blood Flow
Stretching allows blood to flow back into your muscles and your heart rate to come down. Your muscles that you just worked out need the oxygen and nutrients that your blood can supply.
Avoid Lower Back Pain
To put it bluntly, lower back pain is the worst. If you are suffering from this pain, stretching your hamstrings, hip flexors, and other muscles can be just what you need to get rid of, or at least, relieve the pain.
Improve Posture
Stretching also improves your posture, and improved posture means less stress on your joints. Also walking up, straight, and tall exudes confidence, and who doesn’t want to look confident?
Rid Body of Tension
Are you feeling stressed out or just went through a hard week? Even though working out can greatly relieve stress, stretching can help to eliminate the knots and stiffness that tend to build up with stress.
Improve Flexibility
Stretching while your muscles are warm and pliable allows you to improve your flexibility. Flexibility can reduce your risk for injury and increase your performance as your workout.
Get Toned
Stretching will help you to tone up and elongate your muscles, making you look slender which who doesn’t want that?
Reduce Risk of Injury
No one wants to get injured! Because stretching improves your flexibility, you will have greater range of motion which means, you are less likely to be injured.
So next time you workout and you attend one of our bootcamp classes in San Bernardino, don’t forget to take five to ten minutes to care for your muscles that you just worked so hard.
