Spin Class Workout: This is Low-Impact Cardio that is FUN and the time seems to fly by! “The muscles you use on a spinning bike, the gluteus maximus and the quadriceps, are some of the largest in your body, so you’re going to be using a lot of calories,” you can expect to burn anywhere between 500 and 700 calories in a 45-50 minute Downtown Fit Camp indoor cycling class. The intensity will vary throughout the class thanks to different body positions (i.e., standing versus sitting), pedal speed, and resistance. We will be adjusting your bike settings so your ride feels like it would outdoors—complete with hill climbs, sprints, and flat surface. (Get there early) The bike you’re going to spend the next 45-50 minutes on is crucial to your enjoyment and workout, make sure you have time to set the saddle and handlebars up to suit you.
